The Mehndi is a very special tradition to kick off the wedding weekend. Surrounded by our closest family and friends, we’ll celebrate with music, dance, and the beautiful art of henna applied to the hands. Snacks and a traditional Indian dinner to follow afterwards. Haldi (Pithi) & Mosaru

The Haldi (Pithi) is a splash of sunshine and laughter! Family and friends smear the couple with turmeric for good luck and glowing vibes! The Mosaru is a way for the groom's maternal side to bless the couple and contribute to their new life.&nbsp;It also highlights the importance of the extended family, particularly in Gujarati wedding celebrations.&nbsp; A traditional Indian dinner with Garba &amp; Bhangra to follow afterwards. Baraat

Shyam arrives on a horse, surrounded by music, dancing, and high-energy celebration as family and friends lead the way to meet Sonya's family. Everyone’s invited to join the dancing! Time: 12-1PM

Hindu Wedding Ceremony

A sacred and joyful union as we circle the fire, make our vows, and begin our forever together. Time: 1-2pm

Cocktail Hour & Reception

Join us after the ceremony for signature drinks, bites, and mingling before the party begins. Followed by an evening of a traditional Indian dinner and non-stop dancing! From Garba to Bhangra to fist bumping to Mr. Brightside, take those shoes off and get on the dance floor! Cocktail Hour: 3-5PM Reception: 5-10PM

What should I wear?

For all three days, bright, festive colors are encouraged! Women can wear long maxi dresses, sarees, or lehengas, and men can wear suits with colorful ties, kurta pajamas, or dressy attire. In South Asian tradition, red color is traditionally worn by the bride. We kindly ask that guests avoid wearing red during the wedding ceremony. Yes! Bring the kids, they will be included in your RSVP. We want the whole family on the dance floor!

How is parking at Bhakta Samaj Hall and Danversport Yacht Club?

If attending all three days, we highly recommend getting around by car. There is ample parking with attached parking lots for both locations. We recommend carpooling for Bhakta Samaj Center on the day of the Mehndi and Haldi (Pithi). Parking is free at both locations!

What is the closest airport to the Venue

Boston Logan Airport (BOS) is the closest international airport.

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Please refer to the names in your RSVP to know if we have provided a plus one for you.

How is the weather in Boston in May/June?

Late May in Boston’s North Shore brings mild spring weather, with daytime highs in the 60s–70s °F and cooler evenings in the 50s. Expect mostly sunny days with the chance of a light shower, so a light layer or wrap is perfect. We recommend packing umbrellas, light jackets and layerable clothes.

What is a Baraat? Should I join in?

The Baraat is the groom’s dance-filled entrance, and YES... EVERYONE is invited to dance along! Think of it as a parade-meets-dance party. Live dhol (Indian drum) players and DJs will kick off this event with Shyam making his way to Sonya's parents and brother on a horse. The Baraat will start at the entrance of Danversport Yacht Club at 12pm on Sat, May 30th.

Is there a registry?

No registry! Just bring your love, appetite and dance moves! If you wish to honor us with a gift, we kindly welcome cards.No boxed gifts please.
